Ok. so the first drop a perpendicular from O to AB. |dw:1367064745624:dw| Since a perpendicular line drawn from centre to the chord bisects the chord, AC = CB = 6 cm. Now in triangle OCA, AC = 6cm and OA = 16 cm. I'll show further working in next comment -
