what best describes islam

OpenStudy (zale101):

Islam is a religion, worships Allah, the same God Christianity and Judaism worships but their massenger is Mohammed (peace be upon him). Islam believes Allah (god) is the one and only one God with no partner, no son, no father, no companion, no associate, and no equivalence. Islam is a religion, and people who follows this religion are called Muslims. Muslims has a holy book, just like Christianty (with the bible) and Judaism (with the Talmud and Torah). There holy book is called the Quran. The Holy Quran teaches many things, like language, writing, science, sociology, history, as well as laws, and many things too. For furthur more infor about the Quran go to this site: http://etext.lib.virginia.edu/journals/ssr/issues/volume5/number3/ssr05_03_e02.html. The Hadith, is not a holy book, the hadith is what the Prophet mohamed (Peace be upon him) says and does. The Five Pillars of Islam are pillars of the religion that consist of five basic acts in Islam, considered obligatory by believers and are the foundation of Muslim life. These are summarized in the famous sayings of Gabriel. 1. belief 2. worship 3. charitable giving 4. fasting during the month of Ramadan (sawm) 5. the pilgrimage to Mecca (hajj) at least once in a lifetime if it's possible. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Five_Pillars_of_Islam In your test, you will be asked what's the five pillars of islam. I took that in seventh grade in America.
