Mr. Lemons earns $1000 for every used car he sells and $3000 for every new car he sells. How much would he make if he sold "x" used cars and "y" new cars? 4000xy 1000x + 3000y 2000y + 4000x 3000xy

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

"xy" ? No. You decide between the middle two.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3000xy ?

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

"xy"? No. Please decide between the middle two.

OpenStudy (reemii):

selling -one new car: 3000 -two new cars: 6000 -three new cars: 9000 .. you see it's \(y\times 3000\). Same goes for the used cars: x used cars sold : \(x\times1000\). Therefore it's option 2 that's correct.
