what is the surface area of a pentagonal pyramid with a side length of 7 and a slant height of 9?

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

What part of this is giving you trouble?

the formula

@e.mccormick

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

There is not nessisarily one. But there are formulas for triangles and pentagons. You use those, find the surfaces, add them, and it is a pentagonal pyramid surface area.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

And if you don't knwo the pentagon ones, fine. Cut it into triangles too and only use triangles.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

If you want a fomula to solve it with, use Google and you can get one in seconds by just typing in pentagonal pyramid formula. Or, you can use what you know about right triangles and deal with it that way. Hust chop it up as: |dw:1367104396404:dw|
