What is the area of a parallelogram with side lengths of 6 and 10 and a 45 degree interior angle? I know that the formula for area of a parallelogram is base x height. So shouldn't it just be 6x10=60u^2 for the area? What does the interior angle have to do with the question?

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

Start by drawing a picture. It always helps

(this is a special parallelogram)

Ok so now what is 45 +45?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

45+45=90

And yes that correction from @UnkleRhaukus it correct

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

but, what i was getting at is that if you detach 1 triangle and connect it to the other side you get a rectangle
