when an irregular shaped object is placed in a cylindrical vessel of water whose radius is 8 cm, the water rises 6 cm. what is the volume of the rock if it is completely submerged?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please post the entire question. Had no idea where the rock came from.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is the entire question. its whats written here.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright then. I guess we can extrapolate into a question asking for the following: volume of rock = volume of water displace. the volume of water displaced is given by, \(V=\pi r^2 h\) where r=8cm, h=6cm in this case. do you need further help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that relation is the volume for a cylindrical shaped object.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks. i can solve this from here. :))) thanks a lot!

you're welcome :)
