Two spheres of copper, of radii 1cm and 2cm, respectively, are melted into a cylinder of radius 1cm. Find the altitude of the cyliner.

If you mean that altitude is the height ; Then - Sum of volumes of 2 spheres = Volume of cylinder. i.e. 4/3 Pi 1^3 + 4/3 Pi 2^3 = Pi x 1^2 x h You can take 4/3 Pi common and cancel Pi on both sides. Solve accordingly :)
