analyze this conic section to answer the questions below. 25x^2 + 36y^2 -350x + 325 =0 What type of conic sections is this equation Circle Hyperbola Ellipse Parabola Where is the center of the conic section? What are the values of a and b for this conic section what is the focus or foci for this conic section What is the asymptotes for this conic section.
Do you have any idea?
Should I put it in a standard form
look like 25x^2 -35x +36y^2 =325
and I am stuck
@Mertsj
Let me give you a hint. The identifying characteristics are that the x^2 t andy^2 terms are both positive but the coefficients are not equal. Look in your book for a conic section like that.
I am still confused. usually I would just do complete the square but like you said the coefficient are not equal and I don't have the book to figure it out.

You might be able to find it there.
I looked at it and i am thinking of a parabola which might be wrong
Does the parabola have both x^2 and y^2 in the same equation?
having that x^2 and y^2 is both positive it would be a ellipse since parabola dont have x^2 and y^2
Very good. it is an ellipse.
Now get the 325 over to the right side and complete the square.
So I got 25x^2-35x+(1225/4) +36y^2 = 325
