OpenStudy (nathan917):

What are your options?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have no options :(

OpenStudy (dls):

Area of circle= \[pi ~* R * R\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know the circle formula for this shape, it's (1/2)(3.14)(8)^2= 100.4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is this right??

OpenStudy (dls):

why 1/2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I saw this formula somewhere. Ok so it's (3.14)(8)^2

OpenStudy (dls):

\[\LARGE Area~of~circle=\pi \times R^2\]

OpenStudy (dls):

\[\LARGE \pi=3.142857142857143\approx3.14\]

OpenStudy (dls):

\[\LARGE R=8\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know that already, i know pi=3.14 See the shape i drew it has two shapes right, how can calculate the area of both of these shapes??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(3.14)(8)^2=200.96, ok we got the circle. now how can i calculate the other shape. I have to find the area for both of these shapes and add them together.

OpenStudy (dls):

\[\LARGE Area ~of ~\square=Total~Area-Area~of~circle\]
