Confused on the explicit formula?

What are the first 6 terms of the sequence with the explicit formula an=-3n^2+4 Can someone please explain this and help me out? The first time I did it, I got 13 but the website I used to check my work says the answer is 1.

Okay, to solve the explicit formula, you have to plug your term number in place of n. a(1)=-3(1)^2+4 = 13 (because -3*1=-3*-3=9+4=13 a(2)=-3(2)^2+4= 40 (because -3*2=-6*-6=36+4=40 And so forth... I think you were right....
