x2+6x-2=0

OpenStudy (abb0t):

Same as last problem! Use the quadratic formula I provided.

OpenStudy (nathan917):

quadratic formula: x = (-9 +- sqrt(45))/2 = (-9 +- 3*sqrt(5))/2 = 3(-3 +- sqrt(5))/2 Is this correct for the last question? @abb0t

OpenStudy (abb0t):

\[x= \frac{ -b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac} }{ 2a }\]

OpenStudy (abb0t):

I don't know, nathan! This is a new problem.

OpenStudy (nathan917):

Given: ax² + bx + c = 0 Quadratic Formula: x = [-b ± √(b² - 4ac)] / 2a Given: 1x² + 6x + 2 = 0 Means: a = 1, b = 6, c = 2 x = [-b ± √(b² - 4ac)] / 2a x = [-(6) ± √((6)² - 4(1)(2))] / 2(1) x = [-6 ± √(36 + -8)] / 2 x = [-6 ± √28] / 2 x = [-6 ± √(4 * 7)] / 2 x = [-6 ± 2√7] / 2 x = -3 ± √7

this is so confusing to me
