2. Explain what is meant by Rf value.
3. Discuss with respect to sigma and pi bonds why some organic compounds r insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents.

Rf value is used in paper chromotography; it is the length traveled by the solute (from starting point to final point) divided by the length traveled by the solvent (usually water)
