Which statement is true about the energy of electromagnetic radiation? a. the frequency of the emitted radiation is inversely proportional to it's energy b. the frequency of the emitted radiation is directly proportional to it's energy C the wavelength of the emitted is directly proportional to it's energy. D. The Amplitude of the emitted is inversely proportional to it's energy

OpenStudy (ivancsc1996):

B.

are you sure ?

thanks !(:

OpenStudy (ivancsc1996):

No, I am not. I have no idea about EM. What I do know is that A. and C. are the same since wavelength is inversely proportional to frequency, therefore both must be wrong. Then I just guessed since D has nothing to do with A, B and C. Also if you think about it, we se different colors (frequencies) reflected from surfaces since their energy is not right for the electrons in it to absorb. Therefore the answer must relate frequencies.
