Which angle measure below is not a possible measure of an exterior angle of a regular polygon? 45° 36° 40° 54°

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you in geometry?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes & it's so frustrating . I hate it .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its alright, I will help you. An exterior angle can exterior angle of a polygon is an angle that forms a linear pair with one of the angles of the polygon. So we can look from here and dismiss some answers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Think about this: the formula for the measure of an exterior angle of a regular polygon is 360/n, where n is the number of sides. So if the number you get can be put into 360 with a whole number, then you have to find the choice that doesn't go into 360 nicely.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, that'd be great.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@HemerickLee

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So test the choices by dividing 360 by them. 360/45 360/36 360/40 360/54

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is going to be the 40 degrees because it doesn't go into the answer nicely like that lady said for the formula.. Thank you @thechocoluver445

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Wait. Why are we all in history or it's only me?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, @saifoo.khan's right. This should be in the math section... But @HemerickLee actually 40 goes into 360 9 times, so that's not it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@HemerickLee @thechocoluver445 thank you guys so much :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it would be 54.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yep.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

54

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I divided the wrong way..... Oooops...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

we all make mistakes :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol it's okay, mistakes happen

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

@omgdime : Please post your problems in mathematics.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@thechocoluver445 Thank you for fixing it for me!

OpenStudy (snuggielad):

Hi Omgdime...I have realized that you are posting your Math questions int he History Group. Please post in math.

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

PS not your problems, but your mathematics problems to be precise.

OpenStudy (snuggielad):

SAIFOO?!?!?!?!?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem, @HemerickLee :)

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

YO?! @SnuggieLad

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm guessing you two know each other :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@saifoo.khan get off the question if it bothers you so bad. I made a simple mistake , gesh.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

moving to math.

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Lol. Calm down. Drink a glass of cold water.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@omgdime He's a moderator (you can tell by the purple) so he kinda has to tell people, don't take it personally! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@thechocoluver445 lol thank you. I'm new. @saifoo.khan advice taken. lol

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Lol. No problem. Make sure you read this sometime (whenever youfeel like reading a novel): http://openstudy.com/code-of-conduct

OpenStudy (snuggielad):

LOL...We need a cliff notes version of the CoC...

OpenStudy (snuggielad):

IMMA MAKE THAT!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol will do.

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

lol sure. @snug.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oook, good lluck
