Based on the data set shown, which of the following is a true statement? -1, -1, 0, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what are the statements?

OpenStudy (goformit100):

ya post the full question Madam

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mean = mode mean < median mode < median

OpenStudy (aravindg):

Why note find the mean ,mode and median then compare them?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What

OpenStudy (aravindg):

Do you know what mode, mean and mean are?

OpenStudy (aravindg):

*and median

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the mode is 1, mode = the most you see

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@krlg11 don't give the answers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

median=1, median=middle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im telling her why the answers are what they are

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but she hasn't found them yet tell her how, then she gets a free practice.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The mean is "mean" because you have to add them all together and divide by the number of numbers that you just added together which in this case is -1+ -1+ 0+ 1+ 1+1+1+2+2+2+3=? divided by 11

OpenStudy (anonymous):

11/11=1 mean=mode!

OpenStudy (aravindg):

@krlg11 yep @Peter14 has a point there .Giving direct answers is against Openstudy Code of Conduct http://openstudy.com/code-of-conduct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know how to do it I just got confused

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well I learn by actually viewing how the problem is done, and having someone explain while they do it. I'm sure she will have NUMEROUS times to do this type of problem on her own, and now thanks to me she'll understand and be able to do it. so @AravindG and @Peter14 why don't you worry about helping instead of jumping down the backs of people that are! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@krlg11 i'm sorry for being a bit harsh, but there are far too many people here who just want the answers, so it's better to guide them through it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm just like @krlg11 I learn if you tell me how and give me the answer so I can find it for myself

OpenStudy (anonymous):

count yourself lucky, I have a hard time figuring anything out if I already have the answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And I feel like I guided her through it the best way I know how, by explaining it to her and showing her the answer so she will know exactly how the next time she isn't at the computer...aka during a test when it matters! She'll remember the stupid little hints I gave along with the answer and the problem type it was.....@Peter14 everyone is different! Sometimes it sucks not understanding it without viewing it that way because majority of people don't want to help that way!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

krig, i'm sorry for offering advice in a way you could take as a personal attack, I should probably have tried to state that in a kinder way.
