I need someone to clarify something for me please. (Warning, I may ask some extremely stupid questions.) How many forces of nature are there? In my textbook, its says five, but when I went to watch a lecture, he said there were only four. So after googling I came across there are four fundamental forces. But... The higgs field excitation is a boson. So isn't it a force of nature. Bah, I'd like someone to help me please. Will you list the forces of nature for me? (The know ones at lest?) @Frostbite @InYourHead (Honestly I don't know if this was supposed to be put in biology or physics.) Thanks :-).

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

only 4 is the right answer :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There are 4 forces of nature. 1)strong interaction 2)electromagnetic force 3)weak force 4)gravitational force more details (source) http://csep10.phys.utk.edu/astr162/lect/cosmology/forces.html
