Help mee!! Line k has a slope of 2/3. If line m is parallel to line k, then it has a slope of -2/3 -3/2 2/3

hartnn (hartnn):

parallel lines have same slope.

OpenStudy (zale101):

Your question typically says, 2/3 is line k, line m is parallel to line K, @Hartnn gave you a big hint lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Isn't it -2/3 ?

hartnn (hartnn):

why -2/3 ? slope is same for parallel lines! if slope of k is 2/3, then slope of any line parallel to k will also be 2/3 :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because if it were -2/3 wouldn't it be on the opposite side of 2/3 making it parallel?

hartnn (hartnn):

slopes of parallel lines are not opposite. they are same. slopes of perpendicular lines are actually reciprocal inverse. here it'll be 2/3 only.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ah. I see. Thank you, @hartnn (:

hartnn (hartnn):

welcome ^_^
