quick question -x > 3. since the x is negative do i divide the 3 by -1?

hartnn (hartnn):

yes, you do. and while doing that, don't forget to flip the sign (whenever you multiply or divide by the negative number)

hartnn (hartnn):

for example -2x < 5 gives x> -5/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh i thought you only did that when you divid by 2 negaives thank you!(:

hartnn (hartnn):

just to make sure u get this one correct, here it'll be x<-3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@hartnn so that would be a closed circle and shaded to the left?

hartnn (hartnn):

if x could take that value, then there will be closed circle. here x < -3, so x cannot take the value of -3 , it has to be less, so it'll be open circle. left shading is correct :)

hartnn (hartnn):

sorry for late reply, OS was acting weird.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thank you (: and its okay mine is too aha @hartnn

hartnn (hartnn):

welcome ^_^
