x^2 - x - 6 _____________ x^2 + 8x + 16 solve

OpenStudy (goformit100):

For solving this do you know the conception of : Rational Function

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for the first one you need to figure out what multiplies to be -6 and adds to be -1. the numbers that do that are -3 and 2 so your answer would be: (x + 2)(x - 3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for the second one you do the same thing but what multiplies to be 16 and adds to be 8? it would be 4 so your answer is (x + 4)(x + 4)

my math teacher has been away due to the birth of her baby, so she has left us with a bunch of problems and it just says to solve. i do not know a lot about rational functions yet.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

does that make somewhat sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes it does thank you!
