a man has a box of coins that he used when playing poker. the box contains 47 coins consisting of pennies, dimes, and quarters. the number of pennies is equal to the number of dimes and the total value is $4.73. how many of each domination of coins does he have.

Let the number of pennies = number of dimes = n. n + n + no. of quarters = 47 no. of quarters = 47-2n. Try using that information and the fact that their total value is $4.73 to figure out what n is, and from there figure out how many pennies, dimes and quarters there are.
