Mathematics 9 Online
OpenStudy (anonymous):

2/3=m/42

geerky42 (geerky42):

multiply both sides by 42.

OpenStudy (ryan123345):

cross multiply. \[3m=84\]divide both sides by 3 :)

geerky42 (geerky42):

Both work. I find first one easier. Just saying. :)

OpenStudy (ryan123345):

Well cross multiplying is the original way. Doing what you do is just going to make her confused.

OpenStudy (ryan123345):

And multiplying 24 on both sides is the same because you have to multiply \[\frac{ 42 }{ 1 } \times \frac{ 2 }{ 3 }\]you get \[\frac{ 84 }{ 3 }\]now you divide by 3. Its the exact same thing. @geerky42
