what is the probability of............

OpenStudy (anonymous):

picking a Jack and a 10?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

chance of a jack is 4/52. The chance of picking a 10 after, or any other non-jack carsd is 4/51. When we are looking at a combination of event we multiply the odds. odds are (4/52)*(4/51)

sot he answer would be 0.006033182 right? but the book answer says 0.012... is there any reason you would multiply it by 2 ..?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i can't see why it would be multiplied by 2. the answer should be .006033182

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, thank you very much!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer is actually what the textbook says, sorry. I never actually learned that method of probabilities. uses the nCr button on calculator.

wait do you know why???
