There are two ways to reproduce, sexually or asexually.  Sexual reproduction happens when egg and sperm join together (male and female haploid cells) and Asexual reproduction occurs by several methods, budding being one of them.  Are you referring to one of these methods or are you talking about the whole cycle with both methods?
