jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

one way to do it is to find the area of each rectangular face and each triangular face and add them up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok isee buh how do u do tht ?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

well look at the front face that's 6 ft by 3 ft so that area is 6*3 = 18 square feet

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

the back face is the same, so that's also 18 square feet

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

do the same for each face, then add them all up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so u add 18 + 18 ?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

that's part of it, but you add on more of course since there are more faces

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and 5*4 wich is 20 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so add 20 +20 ?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

idk how you're finding a face that's 5 by 4

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

I don't see any face like that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its on the top of the house

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

yeah but that slanted face isn't 5 x 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4*4 then ?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because they have it in both sides ?
