Rolinda’s first five Spanish test scores are 85, 85, 60, 62, and 59. a. Find the mean, the median, and the mode of Rolinda’s Spanish test scores. Round your answers to the nearest tenth, if necessary. b. Which of these measures best supports Rolinda’s claim that she is doing well in her Spanish class? c. Why is Rolinda’s claim misleading?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mode: 85 Mean: 70.2 Median: 62

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is B the mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think so, it seems right to me because the mean would be the average test scores.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now, I'm confused on c.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know that part, sorry.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

you have not posted Rhondas claim, so we have no way to verify it ....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's all it gave me :/

OpenStudy (amistre64):

"Rolinda’s claim that she is doing well in her Spanish class? " i spose its right there in b

OpenStudy (amistre64):

and the MODE would best support her claim, since it is the highest value

OpenStudy (amistre64):

its misleading because it is not the best measure of central tendency, is it 4, 12, 23, 25, 26, 95, 95, 95 ; the MODE measure the value that presents itself the most often. it is not a reliable measure of central tendency
