Help poetry!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This poem was created a few weeks after the death of Tennyson's college friend, Arthur Henry Hallam. Ulysess symbolizes the grieving poet. He proclaims his resolution to push onward in spite of awareness that "death closes all" (line 51 of the poem). In this way, Tennyson addresses death as "the need of going onward and braving the struggle of life" after the loss of his friend.
