A circle containing two parallel lines both measuring 6units with a distance of 6units between. find the area of the shaded part (the parts of the circle that are not contained between the parallel lines) no diameter or radius is given

OpenStudy (rajee_sam):

|dw:1367466732562:dw| Area of the whole circle will be 3.14 x 2root3 x 2 root 3 = 37.68 Now the area formed by the square inside is 36 so subtract that 37.68-36 = 1.68. Now the area of the rest will be 4 equal parts out of which you need only 2 . So the area of the shaded portion will be 2(1.68) / 4 = .84 square units
