Area of the whole circle will be 3.14 x 2root3 x 2 root 3 = 37.68
Now the area formed by the square inside is 36 so subtract that 37.68-36 = 1.68.
Now the area of the rest will be 4 equal parts out of which you need only 2 . So the area of the shaded portion will be 2(1.68) / 4 = .84 square units
