What constitutes a cellular response? part of an AP Biology FRQ question..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A cellular response is the third part of cell-to-cell communication. 1. Signal recognition - Exterior signal receptors on plasma membrane recognize a molecule. 2. Transduction - Signal is amplified through the cell through phosphorylation cascades, secondary messengers, cyclic AMP, tyrosine kinases, etc. 3. Cellular reponse - Genes are either activated or inactivated to elicit a response.
