9. The weights of bats in a zoo are normally distributed with a mean of 2.2 pounds and a standard deviation of 0.3 pounds. About what percent of the bats at the zoo weigh between 1.9 pounds and 2.5 pounds?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

subtract your mean from each given value ... what are the results?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

spose we are given 2 values: a and b , with a mean of say, u what is: a-u and: b-u for starters ....

I don't believe I understand... sorry, I'm a bit thick when it comes to math xD Would it be 2.2 - 0.3?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

0.3 is defined in the problem to be our "standard deviation"; the "mean" is defined to be: 2.2 we are given two values to examine: 1.9 and 2.5 lets subtract 2.2 from each of these values so that we can compare them against the standard deviation
