Which statement explains how the launch of Sputnik affected the Cold War arms race? It convinced military leaders in the United States to begin developing an anti-ballistic missile defense shield. It showed U.S. and Soviet leaders that conventional weapons were outdated, which led to a cut in defense spending in both nations. It led to the development of long-range rockets that would enable the United States and the Soviet Union to attack each other directly. It showed both superpowers how dangerous atomic weapons were, which prompted the signing of the Strategic Arms Limitatio
@KeganMoore
pretty sure it is C because when they launched sputnik america really noticed that it had a lot of potential to lead to something more deadly
I was thinking that too @KeganMoore
would it be c because America and The soivet union were both in competition to be the superior country?
at this the long range weapons were really sketchy, sometimes worked sometimes didn't (kind of like North Koreas nuke program today) but yea...so when america saw that USSR could send rocket propelled objects into orbit it got freaky and we jumped into research
@deezgurls yes but also because America got that feeling of OH Crap we gotta figure something out if they can do it than we have to be prepared if they come after us
exactly Aye
