Hi, I am having a difficult time trying to find the proper method of citing a Papal Encyclical entitled, Sacrosanctum Concilium, written/issued by Pope Paul the VI, on December 4, 1963. I retrieved the document at http://www.vatican.va/archive/hist_councils/ii_vatican_council/documents/vat-ii_const_19631204_sacrosanctum-concilium_en.html, and I want to cite several sections of the document. Can you help me find the correct way of doing so? I am using APA Sixth Edition.

Oooh. Citation Machine isn't the best thing to use for complex citations. It's a machine, so it makes mistakes; you need to know when it does.

According to Diana Hacker, "E-mail messages, letters, and other personal communications are not included in the list of references. (See guidelines for citing these sources in the text of your paper.)"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Since an encyclical is a letter from the pope, yo only need to use in-text citation.

Here is Hacker's advice for citing personal communication: "Personal communication Personal interviews, memos, letters, e-mail, and similar unpublished communications should be cited in the text only, not in the reference list. (Use the first initial with the last name in parentheses.) One of Atkinson’s colleagues, who has studied the effect of the media on children’s eating habits, has contended that advertisers for snack foods will need to design ads responsibly for their younger viewers (F. Johnson, personal communication, October 20, 2009)" http://bcs.bedfordstmartins.com/resdoc5e/RES5e_ch09_s1-0001.html#RES5e_ch09_p0054
