what are corresponding angles?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1367534086012:dw| so if two lines are parallel and they are cut by a transversal, the marked angles are called corresponding angles. they are always equal to each other. (Hence if any two lines are parallel and are cut by a transversal then corresponding angles equal each other.) If you want i can post the proof here as well.

They're the angles found in corresponding locations on a grid. Hard to explain without a picture, so here's a picture: http://www.mathsisfun.com/geometry/corresponding-angles.html
