OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Do you know what they mean by substitution?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well by putting letters where the nums are..

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

You have two equations in two unknowns. \(x+3y=10\) \(x=2y-5\) They are saying you need to solve for one of the unknowns, which they already did for you with the second equation, and substitute it for that unknown in the other equation.
