OpenStudy (linyu):

Two monochromatic radiations X and Y of different wavelength are incident normally on a diffraction grating. The second order intensity maximum for X coincides with the third order intensity maximum for Y. What is the ratio wavelengthof X/Y ?

OpenStudy (linyu):

In order to answer this question. What do I need to know? In what topic or lesson?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

WAVES, DIFFRACTION OF LIGHT- DIFFRACTION GRATING

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Degree_of_coherence check that what in effect you are talking about is first second and third order coherence..if you can find the equations that you need and make them equal you ll get your answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

N=sin$/2x=sin$/3y; so x/y=3/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ans 3:2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah it is 3:2
