The main goal of Open Study is to get homework help on assignments and tests.
Its pretty easy once you get the hang of this.
if you want to ask a question (well, now you know it. XD)
Okay, moving on to the next part. Youre been given a timer. This is how much time you have left until you bump your question to the top so that you can get help quicker.
For someone to answer your question, you can see thier profile pic just underneath your question and while typing replies, you can fan them by hovering your mouse over thier profile pic and click "Become a fan."

When someone is done answering your question, you can close that question by clicking the close button just underneath your question or leave it open for days.

But if you leave it open then you have to wait until its avalibale to bump it.
But a smart thing to do is to close it and re open it with the same question you just asked.

Okay, about your smartscore.

A smart score is basically your level on this website.
The more you chat with other users or help other people, your smartscore rises into different colors as it goes up.

Oh and just like Facebook, there are 3 symbols on top on the left.
The first one is your notifications. That tells you on how many users fanned you or which user replied to your question or medaled you with a perfect answer.
Now for the messages, you send a message to any of the users that you fanned. Basically you message them for help or just have a fun chat between them. :)
Now for the 3rd symbol, its the people whom youre a fan of. it shows how many are online or offline.
