Which number is larger -6.043 or -6.43 I think -6.043 but it's just a guess. Help

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

-6.43 is the same as -6.430

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

-6.043 and -6.430 turn into -6043 and -6430 when you multiply both by 1000 (or move the decimal point 3 spots to the right)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

does that help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks, that does help. I'll give you a medal, could you please give me one back?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

uh sure, don't really understand the whole medal system, but I guess it doesn't hurt to give you one back

to be clear, the more negative a number is, the smaller it is. -10 is smaller than -1. Think temperature if that helps -10 is colder (lower temperature ) than -1 In your case -6.430 is more negative than -6.043 In other words, -6.043 is larger so you did this correctly.
