Confirm that f and g are inverses by showing that f(g(x)) = x and g(f(x)) = x. f(x) = x^3 + 4 g(x)=3 sqrt x-4

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

What part of this are you having trouble with?

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Know your function composition? \((f\circ g)(x)\) and \((g\circ f)(x)\)? They are asking you to do that and see if it reduces to x. If both do, then they are inverses of each other.

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

@e.mccormick what is the code for the composition symbol?

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

\circ

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

ty

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

here is a trick. Right click my code, then go to view as and use TeX.

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):
