Anybody here who have attempted writing short stories - How do you guys usually start? My writers block just does not seem to go away!

Fiction, or fact. Pick one. Select a general topic around which your short story will be written. Journal every thought you have about the topic. Don't worry about spelling or punctuation in the journal, since ideas are what counts. Focus, and expect to spend time journaling. If you are a self starter, you will know when your story begins to flow. If you are a plug-and-chug writer, your notes can be cleaned and organized to move the block aside. If you have spare time read classical short stories. Choose: O. Henry; Mark Twain; Asimov; Hemingway, and learn from their story telling talent.

Hi Hlynn. Thanks for your response. Good pointers and I am sure to check them out.
