why is a thrombi dangerous to the lungs and why do they end up in your lungs even though they usually form in other parts of your body?

Thrombus formation is dangerous to the lungs because it causes obstruction which could lead to difficulty in breathing (dyspnea). Also they end up in the lungs becuase small partcles can break of as embolus and travel within small pathways eventually reaching the lungs and causing obstruction
