first of all you can simplify that a little bit to get \[1200 = 2200 ( 0.25 )^x\]
Are we solving for x?

after, you could divide both sides of the equation by 2200... and what do you get??

well the question is trying to figure out when the temperature of a piece of glass will reach 1200 degrees if it starts at 2200 0 min=2200 5 min=1700 10 min=1275 15 min=1000
