their is 1.25 liters. 0.27 liters used. rounding to greatest place, how many liters was used?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Could you reword the question at all? it sounds like your answer is 0.27

OpenStudy (thesecret20111):

Are you sure the question isn't asking how much is left of the 1.25L after 0.27L is taken from it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Possible answers are : 3 0.3 0.003 0.03

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I believe it would be 0.3 if I'm not mistaken

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you can believe it, this is a math question for my stepson.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

He is 11

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its a very badly worded question, but based on the answers it gives you, it should be the second choice.

OpenStudy (thesecret20111):

I'm confused as to why its not 0.2 but from the options I would chose 0.3 as well.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let me verify wording of question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1.25 liters of solution B in lab. John used 0.27 of that amount. Rounding to greatest place, how many liters of solution B did he use?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Anyone. Is this wording clearer?

OpenStudy (thesecret20111):

Yeah I would still say that the answer out of the options supplied would be 0.3

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

Are you sure the question is not asking : John used 27% of 1.25 ? Because if that is the case the answer is (.27)(1.25) = .3375 = 0.3
