Now, if D were telling the truth everyone else would have to be telling the truth, yet B says he sees 4 liars and A says he sees only one. These contradict each other. D is lying.
A says that D is the only liar, based on this information. However, B says there are 4 liars and C says there are 3. A must be lying, because if we assumed A were telling the truth then B and C would be right and A would be a liar anyway. A is lying
C's statement contradicts B's (because if B's is true everyone else is lying). Both of them say that A and D are lying. If B sees 4 liars, then C must see 3 liars and 1 truthar (B). C's statement is therefore true, which proves that B does not see 4 liars. B is lying.
C is telling the truth.
A, B, and D are lying. C sees three liars. Therefore, E is telling the truth.
