It cannot be the second option, because it is stating precisely what you are asked to prove. It can only be the first option. Reasons : If LM is parallel to PO, then by the Alternate Interior Angles theorem, angle L is congruent angle P, and angle M is congruent angle O. Also, angle LNM makes a vertical angle with ONP . Therefore, all of the angles are congruent , and as a result, so are the triangles. So the answer is option 1
