I need help with the Polynomial Function activity from FLVS..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got up to number 5 and my equation is x²+x−30=0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5. Find the solutions to this equation algebraically using the Fundamental Theorem of Algebra, the Rational Root Theorem, Descartes' Rule of Signs, and the Factor Theorem. (Hint: If the numbers are large, graph the function first using GeoGebra to help you find one of the zeros. Use that zero to find the depressed equation which can be solved by factoring or the quadratic formula.)

I will help you I am in FLVS too

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you so much

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No prob. Just give me a sec to look over this lesson. Which one is it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6.09

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohkay. Cool I did this one a couple of weeks ago so just give me a second. I am a little rusty

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem. I have no idea how to do this stuff v_v

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's cool. Which option are you doing? 1 or 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohkay so for solving using the Fundamental Theorem of Algebra you would start by setting the equation to 0.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I take that back you have to use the discriminate b^2 - 4ac

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh gosh..

Here let me show you...|dw:1367876292728:dw|
