convert rectangular to polar

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[x^2+y^2=a^2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

by rotation of coordinate axes... with an angle of 45° let us use w & v instead of x & y for the new variables... x = √2w/2 + √2v/2 y = √2w/2 - √2v/2 get x^2 and y^2 .. the other terms disappear... leaving only the wv terms... and constants... it gives wv = a^2/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait so whats the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so is r = sin^2(t) + cos^2(t)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wud yall plz just give me answer?

OpenStudy (nincompoop):
