Why does it not work? 

Try running as administrator.

IF that doesn't work you can try the thing with explorer.exe (interferes with older games)
you can fix that by closing explorer.exe before starting the game.

Make a text file in the map with dmcr.exe, with notepad or something and type:

taskkill /F /IM Explorer.exe 
dmcr.exe 
Start explorer.exe 

Save as somename.cmd and run this file. It will close explorer.exe, start the game and then restart explorer.


Also you can use compability mode to make the game run as windows xp or something and set colors en resolution to low.

Thanks! I tried closing the explorer and it gets rid of some weird dots that mess up the graphics in the game. I also found a patch online that allows me to play it without changing any settings or compatibility features. This game is such a throwback i couldn't wait to play it again lol
