- the first one is to take the addition of both equations. This allows you to solve x. y can be calculated easily after you have x.
- the second method is to represent x in the mean of y. I don't remember the Mathematics term so i will do it for you.
The first equation gives
$$x=(20+3y)\div7 $$
take this into the second equation
$$5(20+3y)\div7 + 3y = 16$$

Elimination is the 1st method u used & Substitution is the 2nd method
