It's all about the tone. A lot of people try to play the high notes right off the bat and makes for crappy tone practice scales first and then move on to range when you think you're ready.

Make sure to practice long tones and the chromatic scale. Your tone will sound the best if you teach yourself to play while standing up straight with your trumpet at a 45 degree angle. Keep your embeture tight, flex your stomach when you play standing up. Don't blow air into your cheeks, and ALWAYS use more air (not a louder sound, just more air). Hope this helps
