||u||=10 and ||v||=10, and the angle between u and v is ((5pi)/(6)). what is u•v?

OpenStudy (phi):

u•v = ||u|| ||v|| cos(A) where A is the angle between the 2 vectors

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would that just be 10•10•cos(A)?

OpenStudy (phi):

the "thick dot" means dot product of two vectors. but if you mean multiply then yes, except A is given (in radians) as 5 pi/6

OpenStudy (phi):

type 10*10*cos(5*pi/6)= in the google search window to get a number

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-86.6025403784?

OpenStudy (phi):

yes

thanks so much!
