A local civic theater has 22 seats in the first row and 21 rows in all. Each successive row contains 3 additional seats . How many seats are in thecivic theater

OpenStudy (ja1):

Average number of seats per row: (22 + 82)/2 = 52 (row 1 + row 21)

OpenStudy (ja1):

Number of seats = avg x rows: 52 x 21 = 1092

OpenStudy (ja1):

So 1092 is your answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How did you get 82?

OpenStudy (ja1):

Row 1 has 22 seats right? and so when you add 3 21 times you get 82 seats in 21

OpenStudy (ja1):

82 is the number of seats that row 21 has

OpenStudy (ja1):

do you understand @awhite23

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (ja1):
